JAIPUR: Rajasthan governor Madan Lal Khurana has reiterated he would love to be removed than resign on his own.
Khurana while addressing the poor during the gharib sunvayi programme in the premises of the Raj Bhavan here on Thursday said, "What wrong I have done, so that I should step down."
Speculation is rife here that Khurana will also have to go.
Additional charge of Gujarat given to Madhya Pradesh governor Balram Jakhar following the removal of Gujarat governor Kailashpati Mishra is an indication to this, sources said.
The sources said the President this time gave the additional responsibility of Gujarat to the Madhya Pradesh governor and not to the Rajasthan governor as used to be the case before.
Mishra was recently given the additional charge of Rajasthan when state governor N C Jain had died.
Khurana became an eyesore for Congress ever since he started using Raj Bhawan for hearing the problems of the poor. Khurana was even criticised by PCC president Narain Singh and other Congress leaders.
Khurana had to discontinue the gharib sunvayi programme initiated by him on the eve of the Lok Sabha election. He restarted the programme on Thursday and a large number of poor turned out at the Raj Bhawan to present their cases before the governor.
Khurana met each of them and directed the officials to take up their matters with the concerned departments.
